Your baby has now arrived, congratulations! Having a baby is the most wonderful adventure we will embark upon but it can also be a very taxing experience for our bodies. The reality of having a cute but demanding small child can sometimes leave us feeling tired, without energy and with a low self-image.
When can I get back to exercising?
You may be feeling very tired and weak or raring to get back to exercise. Whatever your situation, you’ll be pleased to hear that we work with loads of new moms and will help you to quickly get back to your best.
Usually you can get back to exercising after your 6 week post natal check. As every birth is different, always get the all clear from your doctor before resuming an exercise routine.
What can I expect from postnatal Pilates sessions?
A posture analysis will be carried out and your individual needs will be taken on board. Postnatal sessions are structured so that your body needs are considered. Sessions start gently but will increase in difficulty as your physical strength returns.
Benefits of postnatal Pilates sessions
The journey through pregnancy can sometimes cause changes in the body. Many moms experience lordosis (hyperextension of the lumbar spine from the weight of carrying a baby in their belly and abdominal muscles weakness), kyphosis (rounding of the upper thoracic spine from breastfeeding and picking up their child, caused by weak upper back muscles) among many other conditions. By starting and maintaining regular training you will be able to get your strength back and work the problem areas. This will enable you to cope better with any muscular pain, correct the muscular imbalances and work towards being pain-free. The sessions will also help you regain your prenatal body shape. Working out will help you to keep a healthy mind-body connection and help you feel more positive physically and mentally.
Can my child attend the class with me?
As classes are individual, your child can be with you thus avoiding additional childcare costs or concerns about leaving them with someone else. For more information or to book your session, please Contact Us now.
